CROSS COUNTRY DAY!!

YAY CROSS COUNTRY!! If you guessed that I just finished running, then your correct. Because it was week 8, which also meant that it was nearly cross country our school was getting ready for the day to come. But then the day was here on Friday the 21st of September 2018 our school had Cross Country it was a really exciting run but nervous for some people. Everyone were at the courts sitting at their year and gender groups.

When everybody was settled we got the prefects and house captains up but first of all we did Mihi and Karakia(Prayer). Mr Burt stood in the front of everyone and spoke for a few minutes. Then Ms V, our school sport teacher spoke for a few minutes too, about what we should be doing but my year didn’t really need a reminder it might have just been for the year 1 to 4. After a few minutes, we started getting up the kids and when the years 1 to 4 finished everyone from years 5 to 8 got to move up and see a better view.

At the end of the race I was really proud of myself because I tried my personal best even though I didn’t come the places I was hoping to come I thought that it wasn’t really about coming 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. But then I found out that it was all about trying.

TEAM 5 PERFORMANCES

Today was a special day for teams 5 and 3 my team. Team 5 had a performance for every class my class was 2nd to last which was room 3, it was actually kind of a nervous performance for my group in my group we wore Ie lavalava, Sei(Flower), school top, we decided to wear these for a reason we wore this because Our school represents our school, our lavalava represents our culture, and our sei(flower) represents our family at the end or during the dance it was actually pretty fun. I was proud of my group because they put heaps of effort to our dance that we were learning for the few weeks. The whole team might have been nervous to dance but still we kept going and none of us gave up. I hope that next time when we do these performance we are used to it and no one in the block is shy.

Maths rotation?

In team 5 at Pt England. Room 3 has been doing DMIC. If you don't know what DMIC stands for it stands for Developing Mathematical Inquiry Community's. for DMIC we always have 2 groups a Boys group and Girls group why we do that it's because it was easier for each student to learn and everybody feels much more comfortable the it is.

Tongan language week!!! CHE-HOO!!

Malo e lelei it TONGAN LANGUAGE WEEK! Today was a very special day for our school why I said special day was because we had 2 different Tongan groups perform at our school today. It was actually kind of weird cause every year we normally have only one group together performing but this time they decided to make it a bit intresting and have 2 different groups a Boys group and a Girls group. Team 5 was so glad to see the audience having fun.

Our theme for tongan language week was…
“FAKAKOLOA O AOTEAROA AKI A E OFA FONUA”

What’s your story about your tongan language week?
